What's an IT Boot Camp?

Boot Camp refers to military recruit training, the initial indoctrination and instruction given to new military personnel. Indoctrination is the process of inculcating ideas (to teach by repeated instruction), attitudes, cognitive strategies or a professional methodology. It is often distinguished from education by the fact that the indoctrinated person is expected not to question or critically examine the doctrine they have learned. It is argued that this conditioning is essential for military function because combat requires people to endure stress and perform actions which are simply not present in normal life.

Now, we aren't trying to compare an IT certification class with military training, but we want you to understand why the term 'Boot Camp' is widely used to describe this type of setting.

An IT Boot Camp is accelerated certification training. You will experience long days and nights of rigorous exam preparation in a controlled environment. This intense training is designed to fill the knowledge gaps between the IT “real” world and the IT “certification” world, and prepare you to pass the exams…fast!

When sitting for a certification exam, knowing that the outcome could significantly impact your career, emotional stress can occur. In an effort to decrease stress and increase success, our CBT XPress Boot Camps are held at the beautiful Safety Harbor Resort and Spa. While most IT boot camps have their students hurry up and wait to be shuttled back and forth from an ordinary hotel to a stale remote training facility, CBT XPress lets you stay, study and sit for your certification exams in a special environment conducive to learning with the utmost convenience and comfort. This is perhaps one of the most unique benefits of a CBT XPress Boot Camp, beyond receiving one-on-one coaching from our expert trainers on the most up-to-date technology and curriculum. At Safety Harbor Resort and Spa, you'll be just one elevator trip away from your room at any given time, providing easy access to the classroom and lab during and after class hours.

Hotel accommodations at Safety Harbor Resort and Spa include access to a 50,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art fitness center, inviting in-room amenities including balconies or patios, in most rooms, premium cable television and on-demand movies.
